I usually am out of town when this exciting event takes place. Each year in June the small outlying town of Bell Buckle Tennessee has its major festival. The day begins with a 10 mile run with around 1,000 participants. At the end of the race... more

About Me
Mar 30, 2007
I'm a Canadian, born and raised, but through a strange and wonderful series of events ended up living here in Franklin, Tennessee. My wife, Sheila and I got our start in ministry by pioneering U-Church in Calgary, Alberta (see uchurch.ca). We spent nine great years in Calgary and love to go back to visit whenever possible. Since we have been in Tennessee, we've served in many roles from Executive Pastor at Bethel (bwoc.org) to my current role as Executive Director of Every Nation Ministires (everynation.org). Sheila and I have a simple motto we try to live by: "See a need and meet it."

Not sure but soon I hope. It's almost too cold for any more golf up here. That when it comes in handy to have good freinds in warm places like Florida!

Good job Pastor Bert. I saw your time and know you finished Chicago. It sounded like a very hot and difficult day. Well done.

Hi Pastor Bert, thanks for inviting me to your blog. Till this day I still remember one powerful line from your preaching back in the good old day in University Church, Calgary: "if you show us a wound, we will clean it and bandage it." It is now my motto. God bless.

Great! 2 things I can't wait to see at the moment: The Niagara falls in Canada and the EN Church in Chicago; smile. The Kingdom is advancing.

Hi (Pastor?) Bert, Thanks for your comment on my 1/2 marathon blog post. Yes, it would seem that EN ppl are getting in shape. May 2006, two people from our church ran it, this year it was those two plus another three (and a few not from church too!)! If we keep multiplying (like discipleship!) then we could have the whole church doing it *wink*

Bert, thank you for your constant encouragement. You are such a great man and I'm honored to call you my friend. Let's set a golf day soon!
